In Praise of the Art of Chiropractic

//In Praise of the Art of Chiropractic

Science gives us a certain respectability and validation. Philosophy gives us our purpose. Art gives our heart creative expression. It is the art of chiropractic that I propose keeps our intellect/knowledge and our usefulness fresh, joyful and juicy.

In praise of the art of chiropractic, I remind myself why I continue to “do this thing”. The gift we offer is the unlimited expression of the basic truth that Universal Intelligence pervades ALL life.  Innate is our individual expression of that truth. The almost 200 named techniques or ways of presenting that truth demonstrates the creative urge, curiosity and desire to expand the aspects of natural health.

The creative process – the art of living/loving – is an atmosphere, which defies analysis, as does life itself. The essence of life, while elusive, pervades everything, fires the heart, stimulates the emotions, renews the soul and proclaims it innate connection to all life.

With this art surrounding our heart, we cannot long falter from the essential nature of what we do daily.  In the quietness of this place surrounded by the all-pervading Presence of God, my soul whispers: “Keep Fresh Before me the Moment of My High Resolve,” that in fair weather or in foul, in times or in tempests, in the days when the darkness and foe are nameless or familiar. I may not forget that to which my life is committed.

This profound statement is the light of the path I have chosen. I do so willingly with a full heart.  If I take a nanosecond before each adjustment as the patient lies there with trust, to give each cellular pallet the richness of color that a fully expressed life presents. I am a Michelangelo, Picasso, Renoir.

I have been given a gift of great magnitude.  It is not too much to bear because each adjustment brings humanity one cell closer to its center. As I focus all my knowledge in each movement, I believe in the possibility of a healed, loving humanity. Chiropractic is the antidote to hatred, judgment and opinion.

Spontaneity, consciousness, directed with love changes the world. I am more in love with this profession now than when I began.  I joyfully celebrate our innate connection as much as our uniqueness. This is what brings color to the pallet of our art. Viva la difference.
